Monday Morning Interfaith

Welcome to the 2025-2026 Monday Morning Interfaith League

We are a fun and socially competitive league open to all curlers of the Paris Curling Club. The league curls Monday mornings from 9:00am to 11:00am. Many of the members are senior curlers who are available Monday mornings. We welcome all curlers regardless of whether you are a brand new curler, have just joined the Paris Curling Club or are an experienced curler.

Following the end of each game, teams meet in the lounge for coffee, tea or hot chocolate and cookies. It is a great opportunity to get to know other curlers, make new friends and enjoy the curling fellowship. At the end of the curling season, the Monday league has an end of season banquet.

The DrawMaster builds the teams and establishes the schedule for each of the four draws during the curling season. Most draws include a list of experienced spares, if you are unable to curl for a given game. Each draw is either five or six weeks in duration and the leading team from each draw is recognized. Teams are restructured for each subsequent draw. One of the benefits from restructuring the team makeup is you get to meet more curlers over the season. Draws are between six and eight ends depending on the team’s usage of the available time.

The reference to Interfaith goes back several decades to when the league was first formed. There were more ministers in those days who curled. Paris along with other Clubs in the geographic area formed curling associations on a local level and the Paris Club is part of the All Ontario Interfaith League. Today, there is a club Interfaith Bonspiel with participation from other local clubs held in November. Paris has participated in a Canada wide bonspiel called the Friars’ Briar that dates back to 1978. This Bonspiel is held at the same time and same province as the Men’s Canada Curling Brier. In 2026, the Friars’ Briar will be held in Kelowna BC from March 2nd to 6th. The Paris Curling Club will be represented by Club members Nancy and Brian Sherren, Dan Nadon and Stan Hutchinson.

For more information or to discuss joining the Monday Morning League please contact Anne Robinson or Rick Ashall, DrawMaster.
